Towards the end of last term the South Hill Park Arts Centre very kindly gave us the opportunity to take nearly 60 students to go and see their performance of the Tempest for free!

As you can imagine it did not take long for those tickets to go!

The Tempest can be a complicated play to stage but South Hill Park pulled it off with great ingenuity; I feel relatively confident in writing that twelve ropes have never been turned from the rigging of a ship to the city of Milan.  The acting and singing was all superb and drew pupils – and some parents – into Shakespeare’s famed tale of love, magic and comedy.

It is vital that children are given the theatre experience;  it can foster a lifelong love of theatre, help develop a greater understanding of writing and character and -most importantly- it’s great entertainment. So a big thankyou to all South Hill Park for making this happen.
